My passion is for painting Owls in watercolour and most recently Oils. I have been painting wild and garden birds for many years but my favourite has to be the Owls as they are so mysterious and fascinating. When Starting a new piece of work it’s important the eyes become the living focal point which is why it’s my favourite part to paint. The detail in the feathers has to stand out making you want stroke the piece and when people comment on this aspect I know I have captured the subject well.
The Great outdoors is big source of inspiration and I am lucky to have woodlands on my door step where I go for daily walks with my dog. When I’m out and about I’m always on the look out for new background scenes with my camera so photography also plays a big part in my art too.
